- 1. The ground must be capable of supporting our bus’s weight, with a strong preference for concrete or asphalt surfaces. This is vital, as muddy or grassy areas, especially after rain, significantly increase the risk of the bus getting stuck. The terrain layout and any event decorations should ensure clear access for the bus during arrival, departure, and parking.
- Please consider potential obstacles like low-hanging lights, tree branches, and signage that could obstruct movement. Steep driveways and deep gutters also pose challenges, risking damage to the bus when navigating slopes. Additionally, maneuvering around other food trucks can be tricky, as we often find ourselves arriving first or leaving last in tighter spaces.
- For single-day events, we would appreciate access to four 15-amp power sources and potable water, while overnight stays require both. Given our bus’s unique size, we prioritize venue accessibility and are committed to collaborating with you to ensure our participation. A site visit can be arranged if necessary to evaluate the terrain.
- 2. If any changes to the agreed logistics compromise our safe access to the venue without prior consultation, we reserve the right to withdraw our attendance and catering services while retaining the full catering payment. This policy covers various situations, including unannounced alterations to entry or exit points, blocked pathways from low-hanging decorations, or a transition from a solid parking surface to grass during or after wet weather.
Our total price depends on:
- Location
- Number of people
- Type of waffles

Our schedule tends to get booked solid, often a year in advance, particularly for weekends from Friday to Sunday. The earlier you make your reservation, the higher your chances of locking in your preferred date.
1. To confirm your reservation, a deposit amounting to 50% of the total cost must be paid within 7 (seven) calendar days following your booking. The balance, which is the remaining 50%, is required to be settled 13 (thirteen) calendar days prior to the date of the event.
2. It is important to understand that if we do not receive the complete payment at least 7 (seven) calendar days before the event, we will interpret this as a cancellation initiated by you. Consequently, the total amount will still be required to be paid in full. To secure your reservation, a deposit of 50% of the total cost is required within seven days of your booking. The remaining balance must be paid 13 days before the event date.
Given the substantial time and resources we have dedicated to this event, canceling it would result in a significant loss of income and missed business opportunities that are difficult to measure. Therefore, we have implemented a cancellation policy for all on-site catering orders: cancellations made 30 days or more before the event will receive a full deposit refund. For cancellations between 14 and 29 days prior, the deposit will be retained. If cancellation occurs between 13 and 8 days before the event, 75% of the total catering cost will be charged. Finally, for cancellations within 7 days of the event, the full catering amount will be owed.
Our electronic invoices include a convenient link for secure online payments. While we prefer cash for its full value benefit to both parties, we also accept EFT, EFTPOS (cheques and savings), and credit cards including MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and JCB. Please note that a surcharge of 1.47% will apply to EFTPOS and credit card transactions for the fiscal year 2024-2025. The surcharges keep unchanged for the following year(s) until changed.

of the double decker bus
1. Explore the captivating gallery below and embark on a nostalgic journey as you witness the remarkable evolution of the bus, transitioning from a humble commuter vehicle to a vibrant tour bus, ultimately becoming the iconic Big Blue Waffle Bus we know today.
2. This remarkable vehicle is a Leyland Atlantean, notable for being the 4926th Leyland chassis produced across all models and the 1214th body crafted in 1979 by East Lancashire Coach Builders LTD (ELCB), specifically classified as AN68B/1R, with a length of 9.798 meters. Initially registered on February 1, 1980, to Plymouth Corporation in the UK, it served as a commuter bus under the designation number 159 and license plate ODV203W. In 1982, Plymouth Corporation underwent a rebranding to become Plymouth CityBus. After its tenure as a commuter bus, the vehicle underwent a transformation, losing its roof to become a tour bus, first operating in Plymouth before making its way to Wales, where it proudly ascended the majestic heights of Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales.
3. The bus’s journey took a new turn when it was acquired by Crunchy’s Waffles, who undertook an extensive restoration project. This beloved vehicle then embarked on an impressive 23,000-kilometer voyage to Australia, a journey that spanned four months. Upon its arrival, the bus was fitted with a professional kitchen on the lower level, enabling the team to serve up the finest waffles in and around Brisbane. Today, the bus proudly bears the Australian registration XB 18 NY, having previously held the registration XQ 37 PM from 2020 to 2023. With an odometer reading of 1,000,000 kilometers, the Leyland engine (number 7961182) received a comprehensive overhaul in 2021, ensuring it continues to delight waffle enthusiasts.
